Highlights from VMware Partner Exchange

March 7, 2013

Tintri was present at VMware Partner Exchange last week, and it was quite the event! Here are a few highlights from the show, which saw great engagement between resellers and vendors on how to maximize opportunities in the year ahead.

Buzzing About Storage
Resellers were buzzing about storage and how it is a key enabler for virtualization projects that will often stall before completion with legacy systems. Joe Kovar of CRN wrote up a slideshow on the topic of storage for virtualized data centers. As virtualized workloads continue to increase, this conversation will only become more important. We are excited to be at the bleeding-edge of creating the technology to help address the needs of storage for the virtual world.

VDI Takes Center Stage
VMware used Partner Exchange as a launchpad for their recently announced VMware Horizon Suite, including Horizon View, which is meant to help simplify desktop and application management. The rollout included reference architecture for Tintri.

Tintri’s Rex Walters addressed a standing-room-only crowd with Tristan Todd from VMware during a session titled “Hosted Desktops on High-Performance NFS Storage.”  During the presentation Tristan revealed the new VMware Horizon View 5.2 reference architecture with Tintri. The lab testing validated that Tintri VMstore T540 could handle on a single devices 1,000 simultaneous VDI users at Ultrabook-level performance. With no tuning VMware labs went from power-on to first VM in under 10 minutes.

Special Thanks
All and all, the VMware Partner Exchange was a tremendous success for Tintri.  On the Solutions Exchange Floor we spoke to a number of high-engaged partners as we demoed our VM-aware solutions. Tintri also had a full schedule of one-on-one partner meetings. It is great to be associated with world-class partners as we deliver innovation together.

Thanks to everyone we met at VMware Partner Exchange and to VMware for throwing a great show. If you were unable to connect with us at Partner Exchange, please be sure to reach out to us by posting a comment or connecting to us via our partner page.
